cA one or two year program modeled after the Blue Valley CAPS program, this strand is designed to provide students with industry experience/exposure to an authentic work group environment in different career fields.  This program is for juniors and seniors. Below are the offered programs.

​EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM AT MAPLE WOODS or UMKC
The part-time NKC Schools Early College Academy is open to students entering their junior or senior year who meet the qualification standards.  Students who pursue this opportunity will attend MCC-Maple Woods or UMKC for half of the school day.  Students engaged in Early College Academy are still considered full-time NKC students and are eligible for all MSHAA athletics and activities.

ATSI (Advanced Techinal School Institute)

Advanced Technical School Institute (ATSI) formerly BTC is for high-performing students eager to jump into high-skill, high-demand technical career fields.  While earning your high school diploma you can also earn a college certificate and learn the skills to start a career in one of these high-wage career fields.

Excelsior Springs Firefighter/ EMT Program

Firefighter I & II or EMT-Basic programs will help to prepare you for a career as a firefighter or paramedic. Program highlights include Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs), applying curriculum in industry-quality labs, participation in job shadows, internships and mock interviews with industry professionals. Both programs focus on employability skills to prepare for professional, real-world expectations.

Must be a rising senior to apply.
