STALEY A+ PROGRAM
In 1994, North Kansas City Schools received two A+ School Program grants for North Kansas City and Winnetonka high schools. At the time, state guidelines for A+ Schools only allowed two grants per district. However, North Kansas City Schools has fulfilled their commitment to provide district support for Staley High School and will be offering the A+ Schools Program for all Staley High School students. Click here to view more information.
Students who qualify under the A+ Scholarship Program are eligible for tuition money to any Missouri public community college, vocational school or technical school, upon graduation from high school for a period of 48 months after high school; completion of 105% of the hours required for the program; or receipt of an associate's degree.  Several colleges and universities in Missouri also offer scholarships to students who qualify for the A+ program.  Please check with schools to which you are applying to see if you qualify.

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PARTICIPATE?
  • Attend an A+ Designated High School for 2 years prior to graduation
  • Graduate from an A+ High School with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5
  • Average 95% attendance during four years of high school
  • Perform 50 hours of unpaid school-based tutoring of which up to 25% may include job shadowing
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs or alcohol
  • Achieve a score of proficient or advanced on the Algebra I EOC exam or the equivalent level on a higher level DESE approved EOC, or a qualifying score, as established annually by the coordinating board for higher education, on the COMPASS exam or the mathematics component of the ACT Test
  • Attempt to secure federal funds which do not need to be repaid by completing the FAFSA form during the senior year
  • 18 year old males register for selective service
To maintain eligibility while attending a Missouri public community college or vocational/technical school, a student must be enrolled on a full-time basis and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
