Steps to Enroll a New Student

STEP 1           
Verify you live in the Staley High School attendance area by calling NKC transportation department at 816-321-5007

STEP 2
Withdraw from your previous school.  We cannot proceed with the enrollment process unless you have been withdrawn.
STEP 3
Request for records: This form must be returned to us before enrollment can be processed.  Please complete and send the form in ONE of the following ways:
  • Hand deliver to the Staley Counseling office
  • Fax to (816) 413-4125
  • Mailed to Staley High School:   2800 NE Shoal Creek Parkway  Kansas City, MO 64156

STEP 4

Proof of Residency:  Pursuant to the North Kansas City School District’s Residency Policy, all students desiring to attend the North Kansas City Schools must physically reside within the boundaries of the district and be living in the domicile of a parent or “court-appointed legal guardian.”  

Each student registering to enroll in the North Kansas City Schools is required to provide proof of residency documentation during the enrollment process. The proof of residency documentation includes two forms:
  • A current rental agreement, mortgage statement or property tax receipt, AND
  • A current utility bill (gas, water, electric) upon which your address is printed
This requirement is consistent with Missouri Law and reflected in the Board of Education policies of NKC Schools.

Providing the required proof of residency documentation will allow the district to maintain accurate student records and help ensure district resources are being utilized for the students, parent and community members of North Kansas City Schools.

Residency must be proven at the beginning of each school year.

Upon enrolling at Staley High School, you will need to provide these documents:
1)  A State Certified Birth Certificate
2)  Proof of custody for a minor child (if applicable)


We will request the following from your previous school:  However, if the previous school does not provide us with the information you will need to provide it.         
  1. Withdrawal Sheet with transfer grades (this does not apply before the school year begins)
  2.  Immunization Records
  3. Official Transcript
  4. Special Education Records (if applicable)
  5. 504 Plan (if applicable)
  6. Current Discipline Records

FOR RESIDENCY DECLARATION, WAIVER, or TUITION

APPOINTMENT REQUIRED - Students NOT living with a parent/legal guardian need to call the North Kansas City School District Central Office.  To make an appointment regarding residency issues, please contact:

STEP 6
Once we have received all student records from your previous school we will call you for an appointment to enroll.  Please make sure we have a daytime phone number where you may be reached.  Although forms may be submitted in advance of the appointment, a parent/legal guardian must be present when a student comes to enroll.
